This question concerns every man w h o lives outside the cor porate limits o f New berg, for be either w ants the public highw ay for his cow -pasture or he don’t w an t to be bothered by bis neighbors’ stock. There is in N orth New berg pre cinct thirty-five miles o f county road requiring seventy miles of fencing. Thisfencecosts$12,300, and occupies seventy acres o f land. South New berg has a lit tle less mileage. Much o f this fence w as originally built at a cheaper rate but the rail splitters trade w ill henceforth be a lost art in this locality and commer cial fencing is the only alterna tive.
