Fred and Perry Mitchell, brothers o f George and Esther Mitchell, the leading figures in the late H o ly Roller murders a t Seattle, were on Saturday night arrested for drunkenness in P o r t land and locked up in the police station over night. The M itch ell boys signed under assumed names o f R. Russell and Charles Russell, respectively. W ith them were tw o triends, w h o also ga ve the assumed names o f Jim Smith and Ben Russell. Perry Mitchell, or Charles Russell, as the police supposed his name t o be, w as released w ithou t being held for trial, as he w as not intoxicated, the charge against him being late hours. The others o f the p arty were held under bail to appear before Judge Cameron. When court tim e came none ot the p arty appeared, and their bail w as de clared forfeited. The identity o f the Mitchell boys w as only dis covered by chance, a friend in quiring for them a t the station. It has been stated th at the boys were in a drunken row . This the Mitchell boys deny. The party, excepting Perry Mitchell, had been drinking, they declare, and they and their com rades were on the best o f terms when taken into custody by Officer M allett. o f lumber through the yards when his road became blocked by another heavy w agon , which he attempted t o pass where there w a s not enough room . U nhitch- ing his team, he attached the horses to the rear o f the obstacle to pull it clear o f the road. As he whipped up the team the w a g on moved against his ow n vehic le, imprisoning him.
