for Circuit Judge.
B. L. Eddy, one of the republic­
a n candidates for circuit judge
in the third judicial district, has
been practicing law in Tillamook
county tor the past eight years,
where he has for some time en­
joyed the leading law practice.
Before locating at Tillamook he
b a d resided for some years at
Portland where he began the
practice o f law . * He is a native
o f Washington county, Oregon,
a n d has spent his life on the P a ­
cific Cogst. He is now in his
thirty-ninth year, and .a hard
worker at everything he under­
takes. He hits, alw ays been an
enthusiastic republican and dur­
ing each campaign for several
▼ears he has taken the stump for
the ticket. He has been twice
elected to the Oregon House of
Representatives, and in that
body he made a record tor hard
w ork and careful attention to
important measures affecting the
general welfare. He served first
ill. the session of 1901, and took
a n active part in all important
w ork of the session, being gener­
a lly recognized as a leader in the
House. He was, during that
session, chairman o f the com­
mittee on food and dairy , prod­
ucts and zealously . assisted in
the preparation and passage of
the present food and dairy law,
which has proven of great bene­
fit to the dairymen o f the state,
■county.
In addition to this
work, Mr. Eddy w as member 6f
the committee on judiciary, where
he found am ple. opportunity to
make use o f his legal training,
a n d he w as at once recognized
a s one of'th e members o f the
-committee who “did things.”
Being re-elected to the House in
1902, Mr. Eddy became at the
session of 1903, chairman of the
■committee on judiciary, and
again made a record for hard
w ork and careful attention to
the business of. the committee.
H is conservatism and energy in
this work elicited flattering no­
tices from the press of the state
while the legislature was.in ses­
sion. But Mr. Eddy’s principal
w ork at the session of 1903,w as
in the original framing and intro­
duction a passage of what is
n ow known as the “ Eddy Corpor­
ation Tax L a w .”
