Jarvis, editor of the Journal o f Education, Boston, Mass., are working up the party. The press oommittee and the citizens’ committee in Portland ate preparing a programme that w ill keep the National Editorial Association d el egates there two weeks if they choose to remain that long. The last dollar of the 1100.000 of stock which the vendees asked the trapmen to subscribe has been taken. The capital stock of the company is 15,000,000. O f this $1,000,000 is preferred and $4,000,000 common. In part payment, which averages about 7.** per cent of the pur chase price, the trapmen are given pre ferred stock at par. For every dollar o f preferred taken at par they are given a d ollar’ s worth of common stock. The preferred stock is guaranteed to pay if per cent per annum. O o od M a r k e t fo r C attle.
