N e w b e rg , O rego n , A surprisingly strong bit o f evi deneo in proof of a woman's inability to remain calm in the presence of a mouse was that contributed by Brid get Colgan, the servant girl who is now lieing treated for a broken ankle at tho Philadelphia hospital. Miss Colgan is a fine, strapping young daughter of Erin, who would give most men a hard tusslo in a trial of physical strength, and her nerves aro usually as strong as her muscles. Yet when Bridged was cleaning the second story windows of tho house where she was employed as ehumber- maid last week and she saw a mouse run out from under tho bed, sho in stantly turned and leaped into the street below, ut the same time scream ing, “ A mouse! a mouse!" Perhaps no more remarkable in stance of this strange fear h:is ever been recorded, and Miss Bridget’s 0» cape with only the injuries mentioned is not tho least curious part o f hex adventure.—Philadelphia Record. - 1 9 P R E P A R E D TO R E P A I R - — »W a t c h e s * and » C l o c k s » — In a w ork m a n lik e m anner.
