W. Marshall of Portland, rep- & Marsh, who has had culinary department hotel for some time, home in Deschutes. The new homestead residence of Mrs. E. R. Riley 1ms been com pleted by Messrs. Triplett and Keever, and is now occupied by the Riley family. The Pilot Butte Inn is under going some changes this week. The third floor has been partitioned off in rooms and the lower part of the house is being repapered. The Pilor Butte Inn, Bend's pop ular hostelry, has an advertise ment in this issue of T iik E c h o . Under Mr. Lucas’ management the Inn is becoming more popular every day. A party consist ing of John Bloss. Jack Geiger, E. F. Boggs and Archie Powell spent Thursday fish ing up near the Dillon place. They brougnt home a string of about two hundred trout. The house of Peter Zell, located on the river half a mile above the Sizemore place, burned last Satur day night.
