The first number on the programme was a paper on the subject, arithmetic, presented by Miss Gertrude Sutton, vice- __1 | 1 Mjsa principal of the Medford school Sutton presented the subject in a very in-. teresting manner. Mies Alice Applegate of the Ashland normal, conducted a class in reading. In this way Miss Applegate exemplified how the beet results may be obtained in teaching this subject. N. L. Narregan of the Medford schools next led an interesting exercise in civil government. This exercise brought out several diecussione. v Registration. All parties desiring to vote and not having registered or having registered in some other part of the state, will have the matter promptly attended to by ap plying at the office of E. D Briggs and W. The Roberts & Jillson mine at Heulev has produced $600,000 since they put in their 10-stamp mill two and a half years ago. In the past four months it has pro duced $40.1,000 There are 140 men en gaged in mining in that immediate neigh borhood, and nearly 100 of these are en gaged about this mine in one way or an other.
