Hieckman of Hornbrook, who was in Ashland last week, informs us that Coggins Bros , the big sawmill men of Igerna, Siskiyou county, who own a large tract of valuable timber land on Hungary creek, west of Coles and near the Oregon-California state line on south side of Siskiyou mountain will put a saw mill on their property in the spring. They have secured by purchase from Stockton parties, by lien land process, and purchase from railroad seven sec tions of fine timber land in that section and will build a railroad from a point this side of Coles to the scene of the mill operations. The distance is three or four miles as the crow flies but it will require a switch back railroad of six miles to reach their timber the grade going about 1400 feet in three miles. They will ship tbe lumber to the general markets and to their box factory at Igerna. KLAMATH FALLS. W. N. Jones and J. H. Cook of Port* land are here investigating the land and timber business. M F. Orr of Langell valley, was in the Falls several days this week. Will Humphrey has returned from his extensive tour through Oregon, Washington and Idaho, after an absence of many months. A real estate bureau has been opened up here with C. L. Parrish as manager. Considerable property is being bought and sold at present time and this new firm will undoubtedly get its work dur ing the prospective boom in 1900. The surveying crew of the Oregon Midland.Railway Co. are now stopping at the Linkville hotel. The preliminary survey is almost completed, having reached within a few miles of town. The final survey and track laying are next in order and before this time next year the Klamathites will be feasting their optics on a real railroad, etc. The large plate glass window, which was to to be put in the front of G. T. Baldwin’s new building, was broken in packing. The window cost $400 and the damage will be quite a loss as it will be difficult to replace it at this time of the year. Reception.
