Beals, who managed the construc tion of the new hatchery at mouth of Elk creek says it will batch 3,000,000 eggs at one hatching, and from 4,000 to 7,000 eggs are taken from one salmon. It takes four weeks for tbe eggs to batch About 1000 l salmon have already been corailed for their eggs. An expert hatchery man from Ulack- amus has been employed to handle the Hwh and hatching.
