C ourt P roceed in g s The valuation of the assessable property for this year, at will be seen, amounts to $14,069,071, after deducting the exemption of $148,- 685. Last year the total assess ment was $13,536,261 with no ex emptions allowed, but if the same exemption is taken from last year’s assessment, it then shows an in crease in the values of the prop erty in Coos county to be $828,180, which is encouraging from the fact that business was more lively last year than this. Last year's money assessed amounted to $16,434. This year we have $53,770. Last year ac counts and notes amounted to $279,755. This year’s return is $295,595, a difference of only $15,- 840.
