with the assertion that be “ is not
worth it,” we are furnished an ex-

in this day and age, it is difficult

At yesterday’s session of tho
Episcopal conference Rev. Horsfall
delivered
an address upon bis
mission work at Coos Bay, where
he has been stationed, for the time
mentioned, as a humble disciple of
the man of Nazareth.
Following
this address, Bishop Scadding
called attention to the faithful and
uncomplaining character of Mr
Horsfall’s ministration, dwelling
upon the personal sacrifice that lias
been made for so many years, and
announcing that the ministerial
salary had been raised in this in
stance to $1000, an act which had
met with tbe entire approval of the
church authorities.
It was upon
this announcement that Rey. Win
Horsfall made the almost unpre
cedented request that the increased
salary be reduced, on the plea of
unworthirens.
There may be better men in the
service of the church than the Rev
Wra. Horsfall: but, without the
honor£of a personal acquaintance we
