Foresters Regiment Full.
D istrict Forester Quo. H. Cecil, of
Portland, has discontinued issuing re­
cruiting cards for voluntary enlist­
ment in the 20th Engineers (Forest)
and is no longer seeking applications
from registrants under the draft law
fox induction into this regiment. This
is in accordance with alvice received
from the Foreeter. Enough men have
been enlisted or furnished induction
papers te complete the ten be taboos
of mill, woods, and logging railroad
workers for the 20th Engineers (For­
est), the largest regiment in the
world. The Forest Service cooperat­
ed with the War Department in secur­
ing for this regiment woodsmen, lum­
bermen, foresters, and others skilled
in some line of woods or mill work.
The regiment's full quota will contain
10 battalions of 760 men each.
Insurance T ine Extended.
The following telegram has been
received by the State Council of De­
fense for Oregon from George F. Por­
ter, Chief State Councils Section,
Council of National Defense, Wash­
ington, D. C.
"The time for filing applications for
war risk insurance has ju st bean ex­
tended by Congress to April 12th. Au­
tomatic Insurance, hedrever, has
ceased entirely, and no man is now in­
sured by the government unless he
applies. This makes voluntary appli­
cation doubly im portant Have your

state and continue campaign to bring
family influence to bear on men not
yet insured.”
