Sr. of Fat Elk Road, shows one of the lovely Edelweiss wildflowers which grow along the beautiful Alps in Switzerland. Mr. Marra brought the flower seeds bark with him when he returned from the Marion Year tour he made in 1950 and planted them here to see if they’d grow. They did. and of special interest is the fact that the flowers generally bloom only one season and then die, but this is the second year that they have blossomed at the Marra home. Mr. Marca also reports that this is the only part of the country where they will grow. Average blooming time for the dainty flower is three months. (Sentinel Photo)
