Chief Athel Dudley was told to arrest par ents on the city law which makes it a misdemeanor for parents to allow their children to violate curfew laws. The local police have many times taken small children home near midnight sad had to awaken sleeping parents to tarn the youngsters over to First FHA Housing Project Opened For Public Inspection Next Week Coquille’s first FHA homes, eight of them, will be opened for public inspection between Christmas and New Year’s Noble Chowning, president of the Riverside Lumber com pany, said today. The houses which are modern two-bedroom homes will sell for $8350 w ith $1440 down and approximate monthly payments of only $52.15 a month. The monthly payment includes taxes and insurance. A ll assessments on the property nave been paid which includes, water, city sewer, paved streets, sidewalks, and paved drives. The homes have insulated ceil ings, hardwood floors, electric hot water heaters, and automatic floor furnaces. The kitchens have lots of b u ilt- ins and the entire house is most attractive. Two of the homes have been sold. A ll w ill be completed and ready fo r occupancy by March 1st, 1951, Chowning states. • • City Signs With State Highway An agreement w ith the state highway commission accepting the route pf the new highway through Coquille was signed Monday night by the mayor and city recorder on order of the city council. The agreement eliminates park ing for 50 feet on 3rd street to Hall, and parking on W illard street from Front to 2nd street. Some m inor changes, however, are expected to be made after the city and state confer again. • • Mr. and Mrs. G.
