JOHN W. LENEVE . John W. Leneve, born at Parkers- . burg, Oregon. When about 12 years • old he moved to Coquille w ith his •parents, where his father bought a lot and b uilt a home on the same lot. As he was a doctor he b u ilt a drugstore, the first in Coquille. He j ran the drugstore and practiced medi- i cine and was a regular physician un til about 1906 when he retired. John assisted his father in the store for several" years and was assistant i postmaster, as his father was post master for Coquille under Grover Cleveland’s administration. (John J was s till a regular druggist at the time on his death, always retaining this membership), i He received his schooling in the regular schools and special night schools in Coquille. A fter his father retired, John put in a stock of gen- ! eral ' merchandise in the same build ing and conducted it fo r several years. A fter he sold his store he was in i California fo r about a year and he also, w ith his father, mother and wife and boy made a trip to the Ha waiian Islands. A fter returning to Coquille he was in various w’ork. ‘ (Was in the real estate business awhile and also in the general mdse busi ness and also in the confectionery business.
