Coquille Valley country club golfers
lost a one-sided decision to the Coot
County country club last Sunday. The
tourney, played over tha Coos coun
ty course, ended in a decisive 48-11
debacle.
It is the second time during the cur
rent season that the two clubs have
met. The first round, played over the
Coquille course, ended 30ft to 16H in
favor of the invaders.
Nineteen Coquillites participated in
the event.
The annual Southwestern Oregon
championship tourney is scheduled to
be played over the Coos county course
July 2-5 inclusive.
To date, some twenty golfers are
entered in the tournament.
Erv Dettmann, star of the Coquille
team, gained second place in the
qualifying round with a torrid 78.

tee to investigate the possibilities of
securing a Japanese cannon as a war
trophy and memorial from the War
department, according to Clarence
Barton, commander of the local poet.
