Farm families in Coos county w ill
spend more than $1,035,000 for new
housing in the next three to five
years, according to a forecast re
leased by the Title Council of Amer
ica.
“As a result of high incomes dur
ing the last few years, farmers in
every part of the nation are prepared
to invest record amounts in new
home construction and in general
farm improvements," said F. B.
Ortman, chairman of the Council’s
residential construction committee.
Pointing out that the comforts and
conveniences of urban living are now
available to farm families, Ortman
said that new rural homes w ill in
corporate such features as central
heating, tiled bathrooms and modern
kitchen facilities.
Availability of electricity in rural
areas o f Otegon u making possible
the incorporation in new homes of
many labor-saving and comfort-pro

82 per cent of all farms in the state

service. Refrigerators, electric wash
ing machines and deep freezing
plants, as well as plumbing system»,
w ill go into many new homes as a
consequence.
