    With the dining tables placed to
form a victory V, members of Beu­
lah Chapter of Eastern Star enjoyed
a 6:30 potluck dinner last Thurs­
day. Nothing was left undone to
make the table effect lovely with
the season’s flowers. A meeting in
the chapter room at 8:(X> p. m. fol­
lowed the dinner. There again floral
decorations were breath-taking, with
huge baskets of gorgeous garden
flowers.
Degrees were conferred on candi­
dates who expressed th^r apprecia­
tion upon being admitted into the
order.

A display of the native bear grass
from the wilds of Curry county cre­
ated interest last Thursday when
when Mrs. George L. Maynard enter­
tained her bridge dub. Also for dec­
orating, use was made of snowballs,
purple iris and Cecil Brunner roses.
Mrs. Chas. Guilbert won high score
and Mrs. Maynard was second. Sub­
stitute players wese: Mesdames Clar­
ence Osika, R. B. Harbison and Chas.
Guilbert.

L. B. Gould and Marshall Kennedy,
Victory Club
Mrs George Griggs entertained the
Victory Club nt one o'clock dessert
luncheon last Friday afternoon, fol­
lowed by cards. With defense stamps
for prizes, high score went to Mrs.
Perkins who was a substitute guest.
Mrs. Jay Carter and Mrs. Carl Al-
born also were substitutes. Mrs. D.
G. Ireland received traveling prize
and Mrs. R. E. Hamilton, low. -Other
members present were Mrs. Storey
and Mrs. W. Matejka.

Arrell were married Nov. 20, 1941, at
Newport, Ore., at the Church of
Christ by G. B. Williams. Mrs. T. S.
Perry, sister of the bride, was matron
of honor and Kenneth Arrell, brother
of the groom, was best man. Caila
Dee Perry, little niece of the bride,
was flower girl.
Only immediate
families of the couple were present.
Mrs. Arrell was s graduate of the
