Balloons, candy baskets and other favors kept the young guests amused between game* out at doors and a trip to grandfather A. N. Gould's home, where they were treated to a view of the deer, elk and other interesting animals kept there. Mrs Gould was assisted in entertaining the young sters by Mrs. Stanford Newton. Guests included Helen Taylor, Mar cia Mauney, Patty Brown, Patsy Ray Detlefsen, Dianna Schroeder, Nancy Perroft, Mavis Newton, Peggy Ann Hughes, Jimmy Hatcher, Cynthia Rust, Sherrill Hatcher, Carol Ann Creager and Martelle Roper and Rose Mary Rickard of Myrtle Point. % i* 1 The Helping Hand Division of the Missionary Society of the Church of Christ met at the home of Mrs. Aaron Wilson Thursday for a potluck dinner and business meeting. As its new project, the group has undertaken to give assistance to the Hales, mission aries recently sent to the Philippines. From here will be sent household linens, which are short lived in the Islands due to the strenuous launder ings given them by natives. The group will also send clothing to Mr. Hale, who Is not a large man accord ing to our standards, but finds him self much too big to fit into garments designed for the diminutive Filipinos. Those present included Mes dames George Chapman, Berlyn Bill ings, Mitts and daughter Mrs. Jones of Cottage Grove, Ralph Harry, Elda Souder, Archie Hatcher, John Sand ers, E. T. Those present were the Misses Jeannette Wheeler, Eunice Howe, Dorothy Belle Newton, Elinor Paque at Portland and Mrs. John Zander. ____ Of interest to many Coquille people was the large wedding in Marsh field Friday of Miss Phyllis Jameson to Kenneth Crabtree. Rev. Charles M. Guilbert performed the ceremony at Emmanuel church before many of the couple's friends and relatives. The 1 bride, who was given away by her uncle, Ernie Harrison, was lovely in an afternoon drees of rose crape. Among the Coquille people attending the wedding were members of the E. M. A guest speaker will be the outstanding feature of the program. At the last meeting the members present were asked to vote on the two following questions: Which dub member has made the most outstand ing contribution to daaaocretlc think ing in the club during the year?
