Student« Show Loyalty The students of the high school who enjoyed a day and a half holiday the first of the week showed their loyalty to P. W. Lane, superintendent, very effectively with their banners and war cry of “We want Lane,” as they paraded the business streets Monday morning. It was entirely in keeping with and demonstrated the harmoriy which has prevailed in the Coquille schools since Mr. Lane be came head of the system three years ago. He has Men most efficient in •management of the schools, bringing them to a higher standard than It any time in their history. This writer has frequently remarked that Mr. Lane has been the most popular—and efficient—school head to serve this district since Chas., A. Howard left nearly q quarter of a century ago, and his decision to leave Coquille was regretted by every one, not only the students but the parents, patrons and voters.
