At Bandon Last Saturday Takes Life of Clinton Burr — Injures Five Others have each won the trophy once. In addition to the trophy, pennants are awarded to the championship team, runner up and consolation champion. The preliminary round is as fol lows: L Coos River vs. Riverton, 9:00 a. m. Myrtle Point vs. Bunker Hill, 9:50 a. m. Many organization and small groups have had the pleasure of hearing the baritone voice of Rev. W. Raymond Wilder in brief recitals, but not since being in Coquille has he given a full concert. In response to many requests he is giving an eve ning’s concert Sunday at the eve ning’s service of the Pioneer Metho dist church,, to which the public is cordially invited. He will be ably as sisted by the two well-known Co quille artists, Mrs. M. O. Hawkins, at the piano, and Mr. Bobbie Bums, at the organ. They will be featured ir. a group of piano and organ duets, and Mr. Bums will present a group of solos on the new Hammond elec- trie organ, The program will be as follows: “I Come “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say,’ Bishoff; “Awakening” a Prayer, En gelmann, by Rev. HONORS The Riverton chapter won first place in the F. F. A. parliamentary contest held at the Coos River high school last Saturday. Myrtle Point won second place and Coos River third. There were six F. F. A. officers on each team and each team was re quired to conduct a business meeting for IS minutes. The judges. County Agent Geo. H. Jenkins, R. E. Carter and Dr. J. H. Bennett, both of Marshfield, praised the teams for the way in which they conducted the business, presented the ritualistic work and the efficiency shown. Speaking on the subject of Fox Farming, Grant Hartwell, of River ton, won the public speaking contest. Second place was won by Bob Lundy, ' of Myrtle Point, his subject being Soil Erosion. Third place went to Donald Smith, of Coos River, who spoke on Co-operative Marketing. Grant Hartwell and the Riverton F. F. A. team will go to Grants Pass the last of March to take part in the southwestern Oregon F. F. A. con test Coquille C ottages Being Rebuilt Championship BB Game Mar. 16 In the Community Building here next Tuesday evening, March 18, at eight o’clock, the Myrtle Point In dependent basket ball team and the Trans Pacific quint from Port Orford will play off the tie for champion ship of the Coos and Curry Indepen dent League.
