men, merchants, ranchers and Cham­
ber of Commerce representatives
plan on attending the Port of Bandon
hearing at Bandon next Tuesday,
July 21, at 10 a. m. Briefs for pre­
senting to the engineer. Major Fox,
who will conduct the hearing, are
being prepared by various groups and
organizations, and it is hoped to con­
vince the engineer that the Coquille
fiver is just as important to southern

After a month’s activity on the part
of Coquille’s new wrestling promoter,
Harry Elliott, an all star wrestling
card has been lined up for the Co­
quille Community Building, Friday,
July 17. Promoter Elliott announces
that he has signed up all six of these
stellar middleweight wrestlers who
rank among the leading middle­
weights in the nation. The American
Legion and official Coquille has lined
up solidly behind Promoter Elliott in
what promises to be a new era in
athletics for Coquille and,the sur­
rounding country.
The local com­
mission for boxing and wrestling,
through its promoter, plans to bring
in every two weeks stellar perform­
ers in boxing and wrestling who have
