Friday night showed the local fans
how really thrilling a basketball
game could be. The referee», Eugene

Laird and H. S. Donaldson, kept the
playing clean. Powers fought till the
final whistle and at two periods the
score was tied. Powers led 11 to 10
at the end Of the half and in the third
quarter pulled away from Arago with
a score of 19 to 13.
Arago rallied
and at the end of that quarter the
score stood 20 to 20. Arago scored
nine points to Powers' three in the
last quarter and the game ended
Arago 29-Powers 23.
The line-up
for Arago was Francis Barklow cen
ter, Charles Webb and George Pauli
forwards, Clyde Lillie, Cecil Patrick
and Alvin Fredenberg guards. Pat
rick played during the first half and
Fredenberg during the last. Barklow
was high score man with six field
goals and four fouls, Webb second
with ten points, all field goals, and
Pauli made three—one field goal and
one foul. The Powers team scored as
follows: Sprague six, Jones seven,
Utterback seven, Shepherd three.
Powers did not play the same team
during the entire game but made sev
eral substitutions. Both teams were
fine on passing the ball but lacked
more in throwing baskets. The game
lacked nothing from the spectators’
standpoint. Coos River plays Arago
here Feb. 21.
A group of friends gathered at the
