Rebekah Lodge Notes Recreational Programs for Smith, alt of Coquille; Alice Mast, Grangers Being Studied Jessie Lawhorn, McKinley; Elfreda Representatives from five granges in the Coquille valley attended the recreational meeting held in the Co quille Grange ball Thursday evening and Friday, which was conducted by Miss Gertrude Skow, director of recre-1 ational work from the state college ■ extension service. Representative* from three granges atended a similar meeting at the Catching Inlet school Friday and Saturday. ’ These meetings were arranged through the county agent’s office for the purpose of providing instruction in leadership in carrying on recrea tional programs in the various granges. Approximately tW> grangers attended the Coquille meeting .and participated in group singing, various types of games and folk dances. Following each meeting a group including some members from each of the granges was organised into a leaders’ group which will meet period ically and practice the various games and other fortns of amusement in or der to become more professional in carrying out the program in their lo cal oragnization. Mrs. Edna Rakestraw, of Coquille, was chosen chairman of the Coquille valley leaders group and Miss Jessie lawhorn of McKinley, secretary. Ten tative plans were made by the group to meet periodically at some point in Coquille.
