Miss Lelah Parks spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laird. The “Myrtle Leaf Club” met Thurs day, with Mrs. P. A. Alford. Those present were: Flossie Wilson, Verna Laird, Belle Laird, Zilpha Krewson, Stella Crowley, Myrtle Christensen and ' Mary Laird. They tacked out a woolen comforter for Mrs. Alford. Since this was Edna’s birthday and Zilpha’s the week before, a birthday cake was served for both. Mrs. Hailey Laird served dinner Sunday to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. J.fULalrd, Mrs. Edwin P. S. Atwrn^y/^^.^nd Mrs. Ivan Lairds Grandma LainJ and Kenneth and Karl Laird. Edna Alford made a trip to the dentist’s Tuesday. Miss Parks is giving a Christmas program and tree at the school house Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Benham have moved to Lawhorn’s logging camp, where Julius intends to work the bal ance of the winter. Ernest Krewson has also gone to the same camp to work. Mrs. Cora Alford is the proud pos sessor of a new steel guitar. Mrs. Alford has been taking lessens from Mrs. Hailey Laird and is becoming quite proficient. On account of an exceptionally large crop, Arthur Jenkins is still digging potatoes. Central called Thursday for the names of shareholders for the new telephone directory. Joe Albini made a business trip to Coquille'this week. Gene, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Krewson, is visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
