M ajor Mayo aanouneed that Mr. Power» through public apiritad- ness had given free use o f the Smith- Power* logging road fo r the trans portation o f rock fo r the Jetty con »traction. The announcement met with mach applause. *> M ajor Mayo announced that the eflsia l notice o f the allocation ef $900,000 fo r the Jetty construction had reached him a couple e f days ago and that within a few weeks ac tual construction would be started. This amount is to be «rpendeil in the fiscal year ending June 90, 1024. He said that both Jetties would be eonstructel simultaneously bat that the actual rock work would not start fo r about eight months. The first work, ha said, would be the construction e f the receiving wharves, one fo r the north Jetty and then the building o f the tramway over the old Jetty so that rock could be piled on the sunken part, r e s t« C H.
