Mr. Beach is trict supervisor but stated it was 146- poasibl* for him to wo anything «to the Bear creak road under preSM t conditions. J . G. Leneve, of Bear Creek, follow ed Mr. Beach in talkikg on the Sub ject and took him to account for not keeping the ryad in repair. It w m the cua for a debate sad tha arguments that followed between Messrs. Beach and Leven* proved highly interesting and entertaining. It was a half hour at good straight talk on a question at vital interest to the whole community. After he matter w m pretty well threshed out, a resolution w m adopt ed asking the County court for im mediate construction work on the Bahdon-Coquillo read, beginning a t the Bandon end o f the line; alto to keep the present Bear cnask road in temporary repair until the new road can be traveled. ~A committee com posed of J . A. Richardson, John Nielson and Elbert Dyer w m namod to take charge of drawing ap the pe tition. The committee is ala* authorised to secure a large delegation to ap pear before the Court on next Wed nesday to put the question up to that body. There is only on* thing in the above subject to criticism and, of course, that is all right from the Banden point at view. In making a wheel, it is customary to work front vtb* hub oin and not from the felloes in. The hub of Coos county road system is at Coquille. All Greek to Ua The case of nine men who were arrested early Saturday morning in a building on Front street, south of the Rogers rooming house, on a charge of gambling, w m disposed of Saturday afternoon in. t^e office of Judge Joehnk. Fines were imposed as follows: Dan Apolis, «160; John Nipholis, «76; Geo. Christo, «60; Jas. Lakos, $60; Pete Vagelatos, «60; Jas. Sturkis, «60. All paid their fine ex cept Jas. Sturkis, who was unable to be present at the time owing to his wife being ill a t the hospital. Sam Kathules, who w m arrested at the sable time, will not enter Ms plea until some time this week.—Daily News. Second Highest in State (From Farm Bureau News) Heard A Holland, of the Sunnyhill Poultry Farm, near Lamps, were sec ond highest demonstration farm out of the twenty-nine foe production per bird for the month of November—9 4 * eggs average for 675 binls, tbs high est being 11,14 eggs by M. L. Walker, of Benton County; but those people put in BOO-hours’ work for 9628 eggs, while the Coos County farm pot in 96 hours for »800 eggs from 676 birds. The feed coot per bird waa 26.1c for the highest record flock.
