and the purpose was to make
sure athletes that are not able
to compete in all their events
on Fridays, due to the meet
being a limited entry meet,
had an opportunity. Then
we also decided to make it a
practice meet for many of the
varsity athletes to just mix
things up and run different
events to train for their main
events. Although stressful for
some to go outside the box,
they did awesome and had a
lot of fun.”
Cole said Ramos “had
an incredible meet,” setting
a personal record with her
5-foot leap in the high jump.
Ramos also had personal re-
cords in the 200 and javelin,
and a season best throw in
the shot put.
Meadoh Waldrop had per-
sonal records by significant
distances in the discus, shot
put and javelin, and Angel
DeArcos had a strong meet,
competing in the 200, 400,
800 and 4x400 relay.
“There were so many kids
who tried new events, and/or
crazy combinations it is hard
to single them all out,” Cole
said. “Overall I was just so
excited to see them try new
events, support their team-
mates, and just being willing
to take a risk.”
