“Movie: All Good Things”
Andrew Jarecki’s effective 2010 drama
chronicles the marriage between the heir
(Ryan Gosling) to a real estate fortune and
a woman (Kirsten Dunst) of modest means.
The relationship takes a nose dive after the
husband reluctantly returns to work for his
demanding father (Frank Langella), who has
discreetly built the family wealth off a string
of strip clubs, porn parlors and other sleazy
ventures.
“Movie: Summer Days,
Summer Nights”
“Movie: Wrath of Man”
Writer/director Edward Burns (“The Broth-
ers McMullen”) again used his native Long
Island, N.Y., as the setting of this 2018
slice-of-life drama about working class teens
and 20-somethings toiling in summer jobs,
pursuing romances and grappling with
their future on the South Shore circa 1983.
Lindsey Morgan, Anthony Ramos, Caitlin
Stasey, Zoe Levin and Burns star.
Director Guy Ritchie reteamed with Jason
Statham for this 2021 thriller, which casts
Statham as a new cash truck driver with a
shady past who reveals a suspiciously keen
precision with guns when he foils an at-
tempted robbery. As it turns out, he does,
in fact, have a hidden motive involving a
revenge scheme. Holt McCallany, Jeffrey
Donovan, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso and
Scott Eastwood co-star.
“Movie: Mass”
Two couples meet for a painful discussion
about a school shooting that affected them
all in this critically acclaimed 2021 drama
that marked actor Fran Kranz’s (“Cabin in
the Woods”) writing and directorial debut.
Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton, Ann Dowd,
Reed Birney and Breeda Wool head a solid
cast.
