Thompson was born Batea county, Missouri, September 26. 1873. and died at Grants Pass, Oregon, February 16, 1924, at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 19 days. The family moved to Nebraska when William was about 10 years old. Me started mining in Colorado when he was 21 years ot age and followed mining the rest of his life. He came to Granta Pass in March, 1898 and has lived here evet since. He was raised in the United Pres byterian church but did not unite with it. He leaves to mourn hie death, his wife, Anna, and two children, Hol tin and Mildred, and three brothers, J. M. Thompson, of Sherwood, Ore., L. W. Thompson of Nebraska, and R. L. Thompson, of Collbran, Colo. The services were conducted from the L. B. Hall chapel by Rev. D. Les ter Fields Monday, February 18th, and the interment was in the Gran- ite Hill cemetery.
