Quarterly Barrel Social Held— The quarterly barrel social of the members-of the Baptist church was held Wednesday night in the social hall of the church. It was an even ing of old fashion«?! songs and other entertainment. Solos were sung by Gertrude Kerley and Marie Kerley and duets were sung by Mr«. A. L. Edgerton and Mrs. R. K. Hackett and Misses Gertrude Kerley *and Mildred Taylor. Readings were giv en by Mrs. Manning and Rev. Cline. An instrumental duet was given by Winnie and Oliver Wilder. Froelic came in from Pa trick creek this week to prove up on his homestead. Mr. Froelic has been building temporary bridges across Patrick creek from the Patrick Creek hotel to the survey of the new highway, six bridges being built, the average being 100 feet each. The bridges are for the steam shovel which Is to operate on the new high way grading contract, tbe shovel having b»M-n taken to Patrick creek on the old road. About 3 H miles of temporary road construction was necessary In order to get the steam shovel to the point of permanent work, and the six bridges across the creek were a necessity.
