GrmnAy' where Mr. Stott outlined the pres ent campaign to raise funds for the Roosevelt memorial, and Mr. Bram well delivered an address to the stu dents, his subject being "Theodore Roosevelt and His Achievements." He referred to the principles advo cated by Roosevelt during his life's career, and told of his fearless ad ministration and the great events that took place during the time he occupied the White House. SHOT CRITICALLY ILL Osborne DeVarila returned home Saturday morning from the U. S. general hospital at .Denver, where be has been a patient for several months. He was accompanied 'by his mother, Mrs. Clara DeVarila, who has been with him tor several months, by lieutenant James, of the : medical staff, and .Private Butler. 1 Young DeVarila has been confined to his bed for more than two months. He feels more at home in Grants Pasts and wanted to be here at the home ot his grandmother. Mrs. John Pool, so he was released from the hospital. His condition Is such that visitors are not received. Osborne DeVarila enlisted in Graii ts Pass in April, 1917. and was soon promoted to corporal. He ar rived in France September -5, as a member or Battery C, 6th field ar tillery, which fired the first schrap nel for the United States against He was gassed and re turned to the United States.
