Prof. Peck has a more than state-wide reputation as sn ex pert in this line, and what he will have to say will be aulhorltlve and highly Interesting. The Chamber of Commerce Is in receipt of a letter from the Portland Chamber of Commerce, replying to the protest msde by the local Cham ber against the Portland organlta tlon allowing its name to be used as sponsor for the referendum move ment against the Rogue river fish bill. In this reply It Is stated that the Portland Chamlber of Commerce has no connection with the move ment, that It officially refused to sign the argument to be put in the voters' hand book, and that it has had no Interest In the matter after the legislature adopted the bill. Jesse Houk and Bill Hayes of Oold Hill, were on the creek looking at mining prospects. Mrs. Oeo. Lance was a caller In Gold Will, Tuesday. The last meeting of the Southern Oregon School Masters' club will he held April 14 at the High school ibulldlng. Mr. Clarke of this place will speak on the "Feasibility of Physical Training In the Public Schools."
