Incensed interstate freight rates on iron and steel articles from north Pacific coast terminals to Spokane and other points in eastern Washington, Ore gon and Idaho were declared unrea sonable by the interstate commerce commission today. In making its ruling the commis sion said that with the Panama closed and the enormous demand for ships in Europe, the contention ot the rail roads, which claimed they were ob liged to meet water competition, was not Justified. Snow storms are sweeping the Atlantic slope. Al toona, Pa., reported that snow was eight to ten inches deep there.
