Smith, wife of Henry Smith, formerly of Hillsboro died at her home at Clackamas on Wednesday. She had been ill (or some time past and bad undergone an operation. They need to live in tbe north part of town and are well known, having lived some fifteen years in this vicinity. Insurance companies have sent or ders to local agents to raise all insurance 25 per cent., excepting on residences, churches and public buildings. Walter Robinson was victori ous in the 100-yard foot race, and Robt. Hocken's gray horse was in tbe lead in the pony race. The dance in the even ing was well attended and enjoyed by the young people of Beaverton said neighboring towns. The music by Stiles' Orchestra, ot Portland waa appreciated by the dancers and the general public In attendance.
