The republican platform of the
June election in Oregon Is as follows:
"The republicans of Oregon, in
convention assembled, reaffirm their
belief in and loyalty to tha gold
standard. We commend the repub
lican congress for its recent logisla
tion making the gold standard a part
of the statutory law of the land. So
long as either of our great political
parties advocates the free coinage of
silver, the maintenance of the gold
standard Is the most important poll
Ileal issue, aflecting as it does the
value ef the farmer's crop and the
laborer's wages. We call upon all
who believe in sound money to unite
with the republicans of Oregon in Ihe
important elections of this year in
order that a victory may be won for
the gold standard so decisive as for
ever to preclude the debasement of

"We heartily indorse the policy of
the administration particularly in se
curing the Philippine Islands, and

confidence that the American people
without departing from their trad I
lions, will give security to personal
and property rights, justice, liberty

"We Indorse the policy of the ad
ministration in suppressing the in

to the honorable part played by the

our congratulations to the survivors
of the regiment on the brilliant and
