A 12-year-old son of Mr. Vanltim residing in Centerville, was accident ly phot on Tuesilaw. The highest night temKrature was 64", and the lowest .16 these temperatures are all above the normal and mark the maximum summer heat. No rain fell during the week, cloud be came more dense 011 Suuday. The atmosphere is hazy ami smoky, num erou forest fire are making the smoke more dense. I he wind were northerly to Sunday, when they be came southerly. Crops The warm dry weather wasofno injury, but on the other hand, wa of great benefit to the hops. Hop lice thrive in warm, moist weather and are killed by hot dry weather, hence the great lanetit to the hops in the killing of the lice. The report from the hopyard indi cate a great improvement in condi tions and prospects.
