Hut, though Greenville looses this one it will not bo long till another opportunity oilers, for a neighborhood so favorably situated will not be long in attracting manu facturing dairymen. The. Heed, the Portland clergyman, who in a tit of mental aberration clandestinely left Portland turee years ago, was arrested io Portland last Wednesday while at tempting to rob the First National bank of Fast Portland. During the noon hour when the paying teller wa alone Reed entered the bank, tied him aud forced a gag into hi mouth, after which he started to help himself to coin. In this he was Interrupted by the timely arrival of Southworth, the paying teller of a neighboring bank. That chance Is for congress to pass a new forfeit ure law that will forfeit the grant without any mistake. Ijist H-s.-ion Herman's bill to forfeit was 'smoth ered" on the pretense that there was nothing In the claim of the railroad. As I said then, so I say now ; "The settlers are gone if they do not hold mass meetings, and demand from Hermann, Ellis and Mitchell a pew forfeiture law." The congress has Dower to forfeit yet. It will do so if the settlers inuke a vigorous demand ' for it. Will you agitate the matter and call meetings of the settlers at once.
