The weather conditions were favorable, since previous rains havo saturated the ground, making it ditlhult to work. The exee-ive sunshine was most acceptable. The ehow crs w hich occurred during the later ortiou of the week were undesirable; they in terfered with the progress of farm work, though not seriously. Crops Taking Into consideration the time of the season, the weather of the past week was most acceptable and favorable to the advancement of vegetation. The season Is slightly later than the average In the Willa mette valley and in the coast dis trict. The decrease of precipitation and higher temperatures have pro duced a gradual improvement. The surface of the earth Is covred with grass, which is making a vigorous growth. Pastures are furnUhlng nutritious food for stock; there Mug grass sufficient for stock, filing has ceased in many sections. Winter Wheat continues to Improve, the dull red color on low-lumls caused by ex cessive moisture is rapidly disap pearing. ' The vigorous growth and healthy apis-aranco of wheat on higher lunds suggests an abundant harvest. Sis-ding is progressing, though the ground is difficult to work. Peach ami cherry trees are In full bloom In the Willa.nctto val ley, and all other fruits are show ing thebloom. Straw ls-rries are In full bloom. Iu the southern counties of Josephine, Jackson ami Douglas the bloom is far lu ad vani-e of other sec tions of the state. Vege tation in Cole's valley ami Youcalla section of liouglas county, is not so far advanced as iu other sections. Clackamas county hop fields have an air of priwtpcrity.
