From the reports received early next morning we fancy there must be something magnetic about these gentlemen, for the game and fish fairly swooped down upon them and for a time their safety was jeopardized. After catching . all the fish they wanted(?) and about to start home, a large deer came tearing through the underbrush towards the creek, and had not Brother Hoge been on the alert he would certainly have been run down. Of course, neither had a gun— which perhaps was a good thing for both of them. Their fish, however, were nicely packed in a box and loaded on their wagon, but when about half way home, so it is said, it was discovered that the box, together with the fish had disappeared.
