Franzetti o f Rhododen dron left this week fo r Los Angeles to spend the winter. Miss Z. Mur phy gave a farewell luncheon for Mrs. Franzetti. Emil and Herman Wendland have been raising the foundation o f the R. Kaiser house and putting down a new one. Jack Greenwood was down from the Sandy Lumber compnny logging operations recently. Jack says he has had a hectic week getting out logs. Work has begun on the splendid modern log house con.ratted by Henry Steiner at Cedar Creek. The home is to be a residence o f Mr. and Mrs. Jennings o f Portland. Bill A lt is helping Steiner. Clarence Eri is handling the mov ing picture machine Tuesday nights at the high school. Am y L. Morand has betn re-ap pointed postmaster at Boring. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Brown and Ralph spent Saturday night and Sun day in Portland with relatives. John Thoensen o f Portland visited his sister, Mrs. Dittert and family over the week end. The stork visited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Berglund (Am elia Krebs) Friday, December 7, leaving little 8 Vt pound Lois Ardell. The child was born at the Djttert maternity home in Sandy. This is the Berglunds' second daughter. Bill Schroeder, a fter trying out the cowboy profession in Montana last fall, is better pleased with get ting out cord wood at Sandy. Bill stays at the Hamman home. Both local doctors are having a large number o f flue and la grippe patients, but none are reported to be in danger. The Fred Bechill family have been having hw rtl'hlA. The two daugh ters have been down with scarlet fe ver at Gresham, and Bechill was ill with flu at the Sandy Lumber com pany mill during the same period. A ll are better. Charles Sharnke and Caspar Junk er went on jury duty ugain Monday at Oregon City. Mrs. Leo McCabe is getting along fine at the Sellwood hospital. The McCabe fam ily and Mrs. T. H. Cooke spent a part o f Sunday at the hospi tal. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. A lt attended a big I. O. O. F. lodge a ffa ir at Gresham Saturday night. Mr. A lt and Fred Elliott were awarded pins fo r being members 25 years. Mrs. Martin Lenartz is mourning the loss o f her mother, Mrs. Stevens, having received a telegram Saturday announcing her death.
