Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Klinker, Chris Klinker, Carl Lens, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. John son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Joyner, Otto and Irene Paulsen, and Mrs. Bateson from Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Horger of Portland were guests of Mrs, Horger’s mother, Mrs, M. Klin ker. Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Larson, after working up on the Clackamas for s o m e months has returned home for a while. Miss Emma Paulsen of Port land spent Sunday with the home folks. Miss Flora Lens has gone to Portland to stay tor sometime. Mrs. Peter Rhul visited with Mrs. Thos Harders of Estacada, last Wednesday. Ed. Harders and Carl Lens were callers on Mr. and Mrs. Held, Sunday evening. Hobart Linn was here from Portland Tuesday, calling on his father W. E. Linn. Lamberson, Wed nesday. Next meeting Nov. 14, with Mrs. L. J. Palmateer. Garfield Grange held a most enjoyable meeting Saturday. A Thanksgiving dinner was served at noon. The program hour was taken up with speakers on the income tax. The speakers being C. E. Spence of Oregon City, j Peter Zimmerman of Yamhill, and M. C. Glover of Boring. The Garfield Union Sunday school was reorganized last Sun day with the following olfieers and teachers: Theodore Carpen ter, superintendent; Elmer T. Davis, asst, supt.; Clyde Davis, sec-treas.; Kenneth Dart, libra rian; Mrs. M. G. Weatherby, cradle roll supt. and girls class; G. B. Robertson, Bible class; G. J. Dart, boys class: Mrs. J. B. Robertson, Primary supt. Next Sunday at 10:30 a. m. will be the Sunday school hour. News has reached Garfield of ; Pi the birth of a daughter. Betty June, to Mr. and Mrs. Earl F. Gunter. Mr. aud Mrs. J. C. Moreland ! spent the week end in Portland and Washington. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Stephens ot Portland spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. J. B. Robertson, Mrs. Robertson returning with them for a week. Watch for further notice of the apple auction to be held at Garfield Grange, Saturday, Nov. 24th, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Penny are leaving Garfield for Portland, having rented their farm to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greer.
