The rock crusher is in full op eration and keeps the truck busy hauling gravel to the roads. Dr. Waters, a retired minister of Portland, was a recent visitor to his farm in this community. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Exon drove out in their new Ford se dan to their farm one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. James Fitzgeralc of Sandy, spent the Fourth at their farm. Miss Alice Udell has returnee to her home after spending a month in Portland with Mrs. James Akins. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kitz- miller and family spent the Fourth with Mrs. Kitzmiller’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph De Shazer. She and the chil dren remained until Sunday. The recent rains have practi cally ruined all of the cherries. The Fourth was celebrated with a picnic on the club ground and concluded with a dance in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. Johnson were called to Portland suddenly on account of the death of their brother-in-law, Mr. Bateson. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rath and Chris Klinker made a business trip to Portland Thursday. Mrs. Peter Rhul entertained her brother, Jacob Mueller and family oyer the Fourth. Mr. Boulin and family made a trip to Salem Sunday, and re mained until after the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Duus were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Held. Sunday. Mr. Walter Paulsen and family of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. F. Harkenrider of Estacada, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Paulsen, Sunday.
