EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS, THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 1922. Sunday Evening Concert The M. E. Church was packed to the doors last Sunday evening by an expectant audience to hear ‘The Holy City," an oratorio by A. R. Gaul, which was rendered by the Colton Oratorio society, under the direction of Mrs. Mil dred Anderson-Hult. The choir numbered about fifty voices and their rendition was one to elicit the highest praise. The theme of the oratorio is the heavenly Jerusalem, and the words of the score are taken mainly from the book of Revelation of St. John the Diyine. The whole piece is most devotional and of a very fitting character for a Sunday night service. Estacada has heard in the Chatauqua and the Lyceum courses some fine mu sical compositions, but on the whole none haye been more fa vorably received than this one. We hope there will be another engagement of these sweet sing ers. most of whom have come, or their parents, from the land which sent forth Jenny Lind anc Christine Nilsson, known as the Swedish nightingales.
