from thence they will travel east

A t the Multnomah county fair
next week at Gresham, there is
to be a contest between old time
fiddlers, and Ed Hunt of this
place will be one o f the contes
tants. I f we belonged to the
sporting fraternity, we would lay
our money on Ed.
Ed. Hunt has his own orches
tra. Tuesday afternoon he had
the phonograph going which he
accompanied by wielding the
sticks on one drum and beating
another with his foot on a treadle
which operated it and a pair o f
cymbals at the same time.
The Misses Edith, Rose and
Matie Train, old acquaintances
from Fort Dodge, Iowa, o f Mrs.
A. E. Sparks, were guests at
the Sparks home Sunday, and in
the evening Mr. and Mrs. Sparks
drove to Portland to accompany
them home, returning later.
