Postmaster Hevlman took the Portland train Saturday morning1. J. C. Hillman has moved into the house next to Fred Bartholo m ew’s. Dr. R. G. McCall has moved his office from the Adix house to rooms over the bank. Mr. and Mrs. G. VV. Ross spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hughes. Mrs. B. O. Sarver left last week for a few weeks’ visit with Iriends at Kent, Oregon. Mrs. C. F. and Miss Leila Howe were Portland visitors Saturday, as was also Mrs. U. S. Morgan. Mrs. W. E. Dunn left for her home in Spokane after spending ten days with her sister, Mrs. J. K. Hughes. ' The rain on Monday was wel come to most every one except the farmers who had hay out in the fields. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Botkin of Garfield, paid a flying visit Mon day to Mrs. Botkin’s father who lives at Fairview. Among the Saturday Portland visitors were Mrs. E. E. Saling, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Eshelman and Ed. Douglass. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Sparks and N. B. Ecker motored to Portland Sunday morning and visited rel atives until evening. The ball game Sunday between Town and high School nines re sulted in a victory for the former, the score being 7 to 3. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wicklund left this, Thursday, morning for Portland, where they will visit tw o weeks or a month before leaving for their future home at Kingsburg. California. EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS Road Supervisor Nat Scribner has begun work on the Highland- Estacada road, known as the Lewellen road, on RouteS. Misses Ruth and Anna Dillon went to Portland, Saturday, the latter continuing on to Salem, where she will visit friends. Mrs. W. F. Cary and little daughter Glen, visited Mrs. Cary’s sister, Mrs. M. H. Boyle and family in Portlaryl, Friday night and Saturday. Miss Ida Wagner returned home from Tidewater, last Fri day and went to her sister’s, Mrs. H. B. Davis, at Garfield, to help take care of. her brother Lyle, who is seriously sick. The name of Miss Neva Holli» Clute should have been mentioned last week as one o f the girls who held the canopy over Uncle Sam (Baby Wallace) in the parade. We apologize for the omission which was all the more unfortu nate because she was largely re sponsible for getting up the dis play, which did great credit to her artistic ability. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Stephens left today for a two weeks’ vaca tion, which they will take travel ing in their car. They go first to Seaside and then down the coast to the Tillamook beaches. It will, make a delightful trip if the weather keeps fine.
