Industrial edition o f the Daily Gazette-Times o f Corvallis. All the editorial work was done by students under the direction o f the professors o f the school o f journalism. Hut the census figures just made public, show this is not the case, and that London is still over a million ahead. The figures are, New York, 6,621,151, London, 6,726, 7511. Ore., to be held at Oregon City and Portland on June 26, 1920, to fill the position o f rural carrier at Boring and Es tacada and vacancies that may later occur on rural routes from other post offices in ¿the above mentioned county. The exam ination will be open only to citi- r.ens who are actually domiciled in the territory o f a post office in the county and who meet the other requirements set forth in in Form No. 1977. Both men and women, if qualified, may en ter this examination, but appoint ing officers have the legal right to specify the sex desired in re requesting certification o f eligi- bles. Women will not be con- s dered for rural carrier appoint ment unless they are the widow s o f U. S. soldiers, sailois, or ma rines, or the wives o f U. S. sol diers, sailors, or marines who are physically disqualified for exam ination by reason o f injuries re ceived in the line o f military du ty. Form No. 1977 and applica tion blanks mby be obtained from the offices mentioned above cr from the United States Civil Ser vice Commission at Washington, D. C. The children ran races and had a ball game and w eie further enter- t cied with a talk on cats. Ice cream was served in abundance and other things that go with a picnic.
