J. Lilburn was a Port land visitor Monday. Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Stamp with their son Harold, passed the weekend in Portland, returning Sunday night. Mrs. J. M. Melton and daugh ter Alice, went to visit Mrs. Mel ton’s mother in Portland. Tues day morning. Hillman returned Monday afternoon from a visit with her son Hal at Walla Walla. Mrs. Ed. Douglass and baby went to Portland Sunday and visited relatives until Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wilcox with Mrs. E. E. Saling, have returned from their trip to Heppner, in Eastern Oregon. Easter Sunday is on April 4th. Easter Hats at Dale’s on display Saturday next. James Norris and wife were up Monday from Dwyer’s Camp, Boring. He has sold his proper ty here to his brother G. W. Norris of Barton. W. F. Cary has had a hand some sign painted to put up in front of his real estate office, in to which he has recently moved, at the corner of Broadway and 2nd streets. Rev. S. G. Bettes (he cowboy preacher, had a fine au< ience at Viola last Sunday. .He will preach there next Saturday night and Sunday morning, also at the Presbyterian Church in Spring- water on Thursday night. Milton Evans, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. R. M. Standish and children Peggy and John Hubbard, came over from Port land Friday to help their mother Mrs. M. H. Evans, pack up. They returned in the evening. The funeral of Virgil Wagner was held Friday afternoon at the Christian church, the Rev. J .#F. Dunlop officiating. Members of ihe American Legion acted as pall bearers. The casket was covered with beautiful floral of ferings and the interment look place in Lone Oak cemetery. Mrs. M. H. Evans has shipped her household goods to Portland, as she will make her home with her daughter Mrs R. M. Stand ish. Her house here is for sale. Mrs. Evans has lived in Estaca da and vicinity for several years and will be much missed by the many friends she made during that time. Deaconness Jones, who has been holding meetings at the M. E. church during the past week, with great success, will continue them through this week.
