Mr. Vorman who has bought Fred Withman’s place moved on to it last week. Mrs. H. Joyner called on Mrs. J.jHarders last Thursday. Peter Kuhl, Mr. and Mrs. C. Johnsonjand H. Joyner was trans acting business in Oregon City and Portland Thursday and Fri day. Mr. Henry Johnson is visiting relatives in Portland this week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mames of Portland is visiting Mrs. Mames’ parents Mr. and Mrs. Jannsen for a few weeks. Beautiful 9 Snow The country is wrapped in a mantle of snow, typical of the season delightful to the young but not so acceptable to the older one«. However the last do not grudge the boys and girls the fun they will have in sleighing, coasting, and s now balling. They remember the time when these sports appealed to them and take "pleasure in watching the fun, which takes them back to the good old days, when frost, snow and ice acted as a stimulat ing tonic to their blood. Under the Doctor’s C^re Mrs. Fd. McConnel has had her tonsils removed. J. W. Lovell was operated on for tonsillectomy. Joe Cahill, who was operated on a week ago, is showing marked improvement. Mrs. P. M. Wagner had the misfortune last week to have the stovepipe fall on her head and gashing her forehead. The cut was so sev ere that medical at tendance was necessary. Dr. .McCall arrived on the scene and sewed up the wound with neat ness and dispatch. Miss Ida Wagner will soon be able to return home from the Good Samaritan hospital. Chris Johnson, who lias been under treatment for a number of days, h a s r covered In s usual health. Fred Brown’s baby was -utier ing last week with an abscess of the neck, which necessitated an operation. Win. Pollock the foreman of the P. R. L. «.V: P. Co. was in jured last Thursday at Uiv >r Mili. He was brought here for medical attention. F. undertook Monday, to improve the road leading to the Lone Oak cemetary. As it lies in Garfield territory, that district furnished the gravel and thirteen members of the Lodge assisted by a few others from Currinsville, did the work. Those turning out were J. K. Fly, Dick Githens, A. Kitching, C.' Hicinbotham, H. Jones, Jim Linn, Lee McKenzie, George Walters, Ben Bullard, Furl McConnell, F. Harkenrider and A. M. Marshall. Those not members of the lodge who dona ted their work, were L. Hale, R. S. Coop, A, Erickson, Harry Kitching and —Denny of the Springwater district. The deep snow and the conse quent shovelling of paths to the woodshed and out to the street, are reminiscent of former winters in Minnesota and Eastern Ore gon.
