Bruce Schminky who has been at the Officers training camp at Presidio, Calif., for six weeks has returned home. Mrs. .James Akin is spending a week in Portland visiting friends. J. G. DeShazer made a busi ness trip thru Dover, Tuesday. GEORGE ITEMS Miss Emma Paulsen, who has been working in Portland, re turned home last Monday to vis it her parents for a few weeks. Mrs. E. McClintock and son El bert, who have been visiting her mother Mrs. E. Harders for the past few weeks, returned to their home in Portlhnd * last Thursday. Mrs. A. Wuderhold of Port land, is visiting her sons Adolph and Joseph Wuderhold of George for a couple of weeks. Roy Warwick was taken to a Portland hospital where he un derwent an operation for appen dicitis last Wednesday evening. His many neighbors and friends are sorry to hear of his illness. Miss Mary Malzanini of River Mill, was in Portland Saturday. Thanks are due Mrs. J. C. Duus for a pail of lovely red plums, which tasted as good as they looked. Wagner was suddenly taken with a spell of dizziness Sunday afternoon and became seriously indisposed. Dr. Morse was called and rendered first aid, so that Mr. Wagner was able to be out again as usual Monday. W. H. Morrison, of San Jose, Calif., and his nephew R. L). Morrison of Castle Rock, Wash., uncle and cousin respectively of Mrs. John Dunseath. were visit ing her last week. The former is a fruit grower and has twenty- two acres in French prunes, one and a half in sugar prunes, three acres in peaches and three in apricots. He says the fruit crop is tine this year and the prices high. Mr. R. D. Morrison owns a dairy at Castle Rock.
